Birthday party. Is it necessary to give out gift bags?
I'm having my 18th birthday party for about 10 people. Is it necessary to give out gift bags? I actually don't think so, and if I had to, it'd have to be something inexpensive. What do you all think?

Ignore the rude people. Anyways, if you want my opionion, 18 is too old for that. Unless you don't put them in little bags and go "here you go everyone" and do something weird for them to get them. IDK your style so idk what you should do to give them the things. My sister is 19 but when she turn 18 we just let her have friends over and a cake she wanted, not a kid cake, and she watched some movies. She, however, didn't give out gift bags.

no it is not necessary to give out gift bags.
Especially for an 18th birthday. Gift bags are more of childrens party thing and its not necessary even then

No, not necessary. And think about it. You are 18. Gift bags are for the rich and children. So, I definitely wouldn't. When's the last time you got a gift bag from a birthday party? I'm positive your guests don't expect it.

Gift bags certainly aren't necessary, but it's nice to give them out if you want. Go to a dollar store or something and just get a few small things. Another option is to call everyone up and ask for a favorite dish or drink, and then get/make that. This way, it's a little way to say "thanks for coming" while allowing everyone else to try a favorite of that friend.
But that's just me...food and family/friends go hand-in-hand in my culture.

No. I think the whole idea is naff. Started so that the children attending didn't feel left out when they didn't get a present and the birthday boy or girl did. Give me a break. The 10 teens attending will be grateful for some nice food and drinks.

No you really dont. If its a kids bday party then its just fun for the kids, but if u cant afford it then dont bother and if u have like an extra 30 in ur budget hit up ur local dollar store and make a great impression!

Goodie bags are like a small memento from a newborn birthday social gathering, it particularly is saying thank you for getting to my birthday social gathering. i actual do no longer do the baggage, I in basic terms hand them the bag empty and as quickly as the pinata is broke....each and every of the candy and lil prizes are stepping into thier bag anyhow.

it isn't necessary to give gift bags you know if I where a friend of yours I wouldn't come to your party for a gift bag...but for you...this is really up to you...you have to decide..if you want and can afford for gift bags then..give them but if you don't there's no point to discuss it..they're friends they don't gonna get mad because of that...
