MJ::::::::::::why so important?!?!? read b4 answering.?

regarding my last q.

please read before you answer. get my p.o.v. before you start talking about how "great" he was or is.

I understand michael jackson is a music genius. he was a great dancer and pop star. BUT other than his music, why do people like him. Sure he gave money to charities. but so do and did other people. he isn't really a god. He's kinda freaky. And before some of you start to spill your little hearts out, please consider what I have said. I am not trying to turn you against him. I am not trying to make you like farrah, ed or billy more I am just wondering why he is so great. So he was a pop star and he is dead. What happens when other pop stars die? poor farrah battled cancer. MJ probably had a overdose!

so my q is....why is he so great? look at what he has done. a lot of bad things. what is so great about him? BESIDES!! his music and money giving. is that all he was good for? I mean his music was good but people say he is so much more than a pop star...then what is he?

Update:

I know I already asked this..but people were taking it the wrong way so i wanted to clear it up. which is why I put at the top "regarding my last question" duhh!

Update 2:

abby, I am with you!

**there are KIDS on Y!A making there ID r.i.p MJ. what the heck other people recently died and people along time ago died. What about Abraham Lincoln..or Jesus! both made huge contributions to us but nope, we all LOVE MJ! get over it...did people think he would never die?

Update 3:

okay MJ♥ one: I didn't say you were a kid 2: If you don't agree with what I'm saying than quit answering my q's. and 3: I don't give a flyin f*uck if you 70 yrs older than me. that's how I feel and if you don't like it. f*uck off.

I TOTALLY agree with you! I don't get all the craziness either! Yes, he was an excellent entertainer, but I mean he hasn't even been in the spotlight in FOREVER (at least for not anything good). I can't even BELIEVE people were comparing his death with Princess Diana! That makes me SICK! She was a truely caring compassionate woman! Michael Jackson was a good entertainer but that is the extent of it, he was a strange & disturbed man! The way people are idolizing him after his death is ridiculous! He is a sick pervert. And people want to live in denile over this fact and make excuses.. it's annoying!

Actually, I don't. My beliefs are no better than a "best guess," where "best" is decided according to my own personal estimation based on my experience and perception. I regard absolute truth as something beyond human capacity, except for certain very limited types of questions, such as math, where rigorous proofs (as opposed to rhetoric and handwaving) are possible. I would go further: It is precisely where our beliefs differ from those of others that we have the most to gain from discussion with them. Each of us may grasp some small portion of the truth, and each will find a different part of it. What we have to gain from each other is an understanding of truths we have not seen for ourselves. I'm a Christian, by the way. And I'm not the only Christian to think like this: "But of course!" said the Spirit, shining with love and mirth so that my eyes were dazzled. "[...] We've all been wrong! That's the great joke. There's no need to go on pretending one was right! After that we begin living." -- C. S. Lewis, "The Great Divorce" The Spirit speaking here, by the way, depicts a soul in Heaven. Another writer also offers a relevant observation: The presence of those seeking the truth is infinitely to be preferred to the presence of those who think they've found it. -- Terry Pratchett, "Monstrous Regiment"

    1. He was a MAJOR contributor to charities. I'm not talking about dropping a few pennies in a jar in front of target. Plus his influence led others to give.

    2. He set the mark higher for entertainers. He was the best at what he did.

    3. He crossed cultural boundaries with his music. more than any other artist. An Icon for all. I challenge anyone to name a person more worldly known or influential in the past few generations.

Hopefully when I die, I will have done at least half as much good as he did. But that's a tall order.

EDIT: You gotta remember that the ENTIRE world didn't know Lincoln or Jesus at that time. That was before TV and Internet.

i agree with you...i mean, he basically did the same stuff other pop stars did, but everyone gave him way too much appreciation. I mean, no one even cared that Farrah died, just because MJ died that same day. I don't get what the big deal about him was.

I'm not even going to explain myself again. Lmfao jesus? Lovey, that was 2009 years ago not 3 week ago. And Michael DID make contributions, you obviously have no idea what good he has done, more than you will ever do. And how do you know the "bad" things are true? Do you believe everything that comes out of the media? Obviously you do..

there are so many things that makes him great. What other person do you know that has been entertaining since the age of 5!? He was just a special person. No he is not God or anywhere close to him, but by far the absolute greatest entertainer to ever live.. he was a legend and will forever be.

    He is not a god.

    jesus.

and what makes you believe he has done bad things? the tabloids. about 4% of things in those pieces of sh*t are true. The good things he has done are proven (1st answer rocks).

And yes, we did think in a sense he would never die, or at least not while he was so young.

i agree. i love his music. don't care too much for his persona. There was something cuckoo. It wasn't just that he was different. There were psychological problems. He died. It's sad, but it's 3-weeks past the time to move on.

He was a great person overall. All the 'bad' things people say he has done is just a lie to get his money.

I agree with you! all of this comotion is annoying. His music brought lives into people i guess. But He is just some popstar...

What about the other popstars?! Since MJ died, Everybody wants to focus on him. He is gone now, so lets forget and move on!

    Who is with me!?!?!
