Olympus xD-Picture Card 2GB - Card Error on Olympus 6.0 Megapixel Camera?

I have Rise Against concert pictures that were on my camera, they were fine for a while. Then, I don't exactly remember what happened, but I tried uploading them to my computer while doing a bunch of other things and maybe unplugged it before I should have?

Sometimes, it will say PICTURE ERROR for certain pictures, but now when I turn on the camera is says CARD ERROR and shuts off. What can I do?

You might be able to recover if you try uploading again and don't pull the card before it's finished.

If that doesn't work, a card reader might help. I use them all the time.

I have no upload software installed at because I don't need it with readers.

Barring that perhaps your data became corrupted.

Here's something to consider. When you take pictures you really shouldn't leave them on your card... you should upload and clear off your card and format it in your camera. There are times if photos are already on the card and you take more... there's a chance some of the data both new and existing could be corrupted and thereby unusable.

It's just a precaution for the future.
