Food Pyramid - How important is it to stick to?

When you're not hungry, because of previous meal fulfillment - should I eat another piece of fruit to get my 2 servings of fruit per day or easily wait for dinner and skip the fruit. (I've already eaten 1 serving)

Should you eat to get your servings of everything even when not so hungry? Or eat when/or as hungry and miss out on you're recommend serving?

I think the latter makes sense, but perhaps its better to get an extra piece of fruit in..What if one often skips their daily servings due to this?

What are the opinions of others? (Please answer in a sentence or avoid 1 or 2 word answers)
