i had the same problem on the logitecth x-210 speakers that i got two days ago.the right speaker was very quiet and it was annoying listening to anything. the problem for me was the realteck hd program in the taskbarr next to the clock.it set it back to default sttings am it then was in ballence again. also try using them on a fridens laptop of connectthem back to your old pc to see if its te speakers which are at fault of your computer. also are you on vista or xp. im on vista so if your on xp it may not be the same?

Something could be wrong with the wires going from your computer to the speaker. I'd faced a similar problem on my Creative 5.1 speakers. The side left speaker wasn't functioning at all and I replaced the wires that go from the computer to the subwoofer, and then voila, everything came back to normal.
