Why do some birth control medicines make you moody/anxious/nervous/upset? I know its hormones but WHY?

I realize that it is an added level of estrogen but why does this cause some girls to feel moody or anxious?

And why do some birth control pills make me feel this way but others don't?

First of all, not all birth control is the same.

Second, its just that-the hormones in the bc chemically reacting with your body. Different bc has different levels of hormones and different hormones all together- Women react differently depending on their body makeup and their own levels of bodily hormones..

Think chemistry class- mixing different solutions creats different outcomes

actually, your options are limited. tubal ligation is really not good for you - if you look into it beyond what the doctors tell you, it almost acts as a tumor in your body; that's what your uterus recognizes it as. there is a copper IUD that is hormone free, called paragard, and can stay in for up to 10 years. however, there is the possibility of a lot of negative side effects, including cervical changes and it actually going through the uterus. not to mention that is a foreign item in your uterus, which is definitely not good for you. all devices and hormones aside, there are natural options. you might want to look into something like natural family planning, which charts the days you are most fertile, and non-fertile based on basal body temperature and cervical mucus. of course, you'd have to give yourself months for your body to adjust being off the hormones. then, there are herbs. it's what women have been doing for thousands of years to prevent pregnancy, and it is rather effective. try doing an internet search, talk to midwives, and see what could be most effective for you without doing the most harm.
