Snake bite question in dog! HELP!?
I believe my dog was bitten by a snake. Her foot and lower leg are swollen, and oozing blood. What should I do for her? I read on the internet that benadryl would help it, if so how much should I give her? she weighs around 60 pounds.
thanks!

If you believe your dog was bitten by a snake why the eff isn't she at the vet?
People like you shouldn't have a dog, you're cruel and heartless.

Depending on your location, this could be a VERY serious problem!!
Many snakes are venomous, and the longer you take to act, the longer the venom will have to do its work. Your dog should be seen by a vet as soon as possible!
Oozing blood and swollen limbs are not normal in a dog, and need to be treated. Benadryl will NOT help a snake bite; swelling like this is a sign of a serious problem that will not go away without proper diagnosis and treatment.
Are there other factors that make you believe this was a snake bite? Did you see your dog playing with a snake? If so, were you able to identify which type, or at least tell what color it was? Are there fang marks where the blood is oozing? All of these things are important for when you call the vet. They will be able to better advise you of what to do.
Whatever you do, please seek medical attention for your dog immediately! It could be a matter of life or death!

You shouldn't be assuming benedryl is the answer unless your vet told you to do this. You don't even sound sure that this is what actually happened or you would be saying "my dog was bitten...". People who care deeply about their pets/companions would just take their dog to the vet and ask there. If you don't have the money now the least you can do is call for advice, then start paying the pet insurance for when the next health emergency happens. Benedryl is for allergic reactions, what about pain and poison?

Take her to your vet. If the vet has already closed for the day, take her to the nearest Animal Emergency Clinic (check phonebook, online or information for the number and address). You can call them ahead and explain he situation, they may have advice on what to do (such as keeping her leg elevated and carrying her, so that the venom spreads slower-I think that's what is done for humans)

You should get her to a vet and let them treat the bite. Was it a poisonous snake? giving medication without knowing how much can be dangerous and maybe lethal to the dog so unless the vet tells you how much to give and what to give, don't be self medicating your dog.

look up the snake on the internet if it was a timber rattlesnake or a magasoga rattlesnake take it to the vet if not your dog will be fine but stil take it to the vet

Before you do anything, you need to take your dog to the vet. They can tell you what to do, and if it'll harm your dog or not.

Duh, you take her to the vet! How do you know that the snake was not poisonous? Do you really want to risk your dogs health. Get your poor dog in ASAP, preferably emergency vet

Take it to the nearest vet now!!!!!!! You should know better than to let your dog suffer.
