Single female travelling in Buenos Aires?
Hi! I'm a 24 year old Canadian female with a free plane ticket (long story....) to Buenos Aires. No one I know wants to go with me, but I don't want the plane ticket to go to waste, so I was thinking of going for a few days by myself. I would take a cab to the hostel from the airport and not go out at night, just during the day time. Anyhow, is this a safe thing to do?? I have done a little bit of travelling in Asia and Europe before, but never on my own.

I just spent a month in Buenos Aires visiting my girlfriend (wish I could go back). In all honestly, it's not overly dangerous. I mean, you aren't really in danger of being kidnapped (assuming you stay in the safe parts of the city). The biggest dangers to tourists is pick pocketing. Just keep a close eye on your belonging (don't take to much with you outside of the hostel since you are alone).
Some common tricks that people use, are using boys around the age of 9 or 10 to steal your money. Also, a stranger may accidentally spill something on you and offer to help, and why this is happening, someone else will come up and steal your things.
But, seeing as you will be a single woman in the city, it is worth pointing out that you may face additional dangers. You really do not want to be out in the city alone at night. If you have to go somewhere, ask the hostel to call a taxi for you (RadioTaxi is the main taxi company there and is the safest for tourists).
Its possible that you could find tourist groups to go with during the day, so you do not have to depend on yourself and complete strangers to get around.
The biggest part is just staying in the safer neighborhoods in the city. Stay in the central touristy areas like Monserrat, San Nicolas, San Telmo (daytime only) La Boca (daytime only, leave in the early evening), Recoleta (daytime only) Puerto Madero, or Palermo. There areas are not actually in the center of the city, but its the business and governmental center, so its referred to as the center.
Another thing that should be mentioned, since you are alone, don't take the bus or the subway. Also, if you don't want to look like a tourist, dress up, not down, Argentine's take their appearance very seriously.
If you are safe, and don't do anything stupid and don't do anything to draw attention to yourself (aviod the "I love New York" shirts and ball caps or the "Buenos Aires" T-shirt) you'll be fine. It's a great city, a lot of friendly people, a lot of things to do.

Buenos Aires is an amazing town; it's an amazing town that looks somewhat like Europe, but with an edgy Latin American twist and if you want to visit that town then take a look with hotelbye . El Puerto Madero is just a place effectively visited. It offered as the main dock of Buenos Aires throughout the late 19th century but know is changed into houses that might be applied as residences, restaurants, shops and other corporations and to offer that task a little bit of sparkle, all streets in the region were named following women. Strolling through the Puerto Madero is a good way to invest a pleasant evening exactly like visiting El Obelisco. El Obelisco was integrated 1936 to commemorate the 400th wedding of the city founding and now is a must-see place from Buenos Aires.
