How fast does Navy AV/AT advance?

if you get enlistment bonus's .. or reinlistment bonuses that means that the rating is undermanned.. it also means the job is not the most user friendly.. because they hyave to pay extra to get people to do the job..

back in the 70's and 80's i was an ET (same as AT? but not aviation?) and we got 16k for a full reup.. the advancement was fairly fast.. you got e5 for reupping the first time and 16k.. but the job sucked.. but.. when i got out. i walked into a 60k/ year starting job .. soooo.... i should have got out 10 years earlier.. !!!!!!!!!

keep in mind.. the only thing the military guards better than kmart guards it's toothpaste.. is money .. (except when it comes to squandering it on contracts etc.. ) .. so if the military pays you $1.00 more.. they are going to get $1000.00 worth of EXTRA work out of you .. the payoff tho.. is when you get out of military.. if you desire to continue in that feild.

oh.. one other thing.. but probably too late for you.. if you join the navy.. you will probably work 2x as many hours as any other service.. navy has ships.. ships need to run 24/7.. they dont hire civilians to do this when u go home.. this means.. sailors work .. probably 2x as many hours as any other service for the same pay.. except mabye the coast guard.. which also has ships. .. ever 4th day will be a 24 hour duty day.. you dont go home.. in addition to this.. when your on ships.. it's 24/7 .. typically a 8 hour work day.. plus duty (watches above and beyond a work day) .. unless your rating on ship is so under manned you work 12 hours on .. 12 hours off 7 days a week.. .. (i know people who did this for over a year straight)

also when we went to the ship yard.. we worked 6 days a week.. 12 hours m-f and 8 hours on saturday. .. we got sunday off (unless you had duty (that every 4th day 24 hour thing)) this went on for a solid year.

so.. this probably is linked to your enlistment bonus some how..

if i recommended any service to anyone.. it would be air force.. they have the best people service. ie they treat their people the best. 4o hour work week etc.. probably h as something to do with pilots entrusting their lives flying the planes enlisted maintain. having burnt out worked to death slaves.. prob dont make for good trustworthy airplanes.
