How about the changing technology of bikes over the years. They started as bicycles with little engines attached to the wheels and developed into very advanced machines capable of amazing performance and comfort.

Just got back from Faro Moto Rally in Southern Portugal where approx 35,000 motorcyclists attended the four day event.Ten years ago traveled to Sturges Rally in the States. Both events claim they are the biggest in their perspective continents.Your research would discover the largest motorcycle events in each of the worlds ( 5-7?) continents.

If its a technical paper, try motorcycle geometry. Why bikes behave the way they do and what effects any changes have to the bikes handling eg increasing rake, reducing trail etc.

There have encyclopaedias written about this topic already so research material should be readily available.

Put some facts into the 'how to steer' discussion by fitting a bike with accelerometers, (GPS) position measurement and steering angle transducer. Record and analyze how riders of different experience levels handle curves at low, intermediate and higher speeds.

I would do it on age related to bike style (cruiser, commuter, sports, other) engine CC and then income.

collate the info and work out some bold statements such as "males between 45 and 60 years old prefer to own a 1200cc cruiser on their income of $50,000 pa"

How about "how does gyroscopic motion work on a motorcycle?".

You should be able to find plenty of material related to tire technology.
