this is just a matter of opinion if you ask me. all people no matter what color you are, has a little racism in them. for the Obama deal well... im not too fond of him but just because im white doesn't mean im racist towards him. we all are entitled to our own opinions. so ya republicans do show a little more ignorance when put on the spotlight because the media targets them ever so often, but they do cover up loads of stuff the democrats have done like Obama's preacher rev. right. they both have their flaws. your right on the fact of how people do overlook racism in the past but that's behind now and to really overcome racism we all need to forget about what happened in the past and focus on now. justification is never gonna happen but forgiveness can.

Your very question proves the hypocracy in the idea that whites are the most 'racist" group. As honestly as I can possibly tell you, YOU ARE DEAD WRONG.

I can tell you that among virtually every white person I know they have taken to heart Dr Martin Luther Kings dream that a man be judged by the "content of his character not the color of his skin" Most of these whites (at least the conservative ones) will not tolerate (even when not in the presence of other races) a hateful attitude toward someone because of his race.

However they have little tolerance for the hypocracy of the left that likes to make a big public display of political correctness by never tolerating a comment which criticises any black for anything.

Liberal whites just love to play the race card but in private many are as hateful as you will find. Of course some like to prove to themselves just how unracist they are by making absurd condemnations of their own race.

Racial tolerance and mutual respect among all races of people is a two way street. A person of color can not throw stones then label anyone who calls him on it a racist.

As for racism beginning with white people, again I beg to differ. I think all groups, tribes, or clans of people since civilization began have had preferences for their own kind and disdain for those who are different. No race is immune from this inherent bias.

Militant blacks who like to use the institution of slavery which once existed in this country as an excuse for their hatred of whites need to touch up on the facts about the history of civilization. They also need to learn exactly who it was that began the slave trade. That would be an eye opener to many.

I am a white, female, moderate democrat who voted for Obama. I trusted him to not be racist even though he has surrounded himself with racists most of his life. He fooled me once, but he won't again. Michelle, don't unpack everything and girls, enjoy your four white house years.

History is history. In this day and age (not 1600 years ago or even 150 years ago) women own land, minorities own businesses and elected positions..shoot, we even have a minority President.

If you didn't do it then there is no need for you to try to justify it. I am not going to sit around and be apologetic for the deeds of long since been dead men.

YES racism does still happen today. But dwelling on it isn't going to fix anything. MOST PEOPLE ARE NOT RACIST.
