Obama and the white police officer?
I live in the UK and there is a story in the media that Barack Obama has kicked off about a white police officer arresting a prominent black guy?
He has defended the black guy without knowing the facts. Do you think that he is biased and not a true president for all America. I would like the views of all ethnic groups please

I think most people would jump to the defense of their race...the only difference i that the media doesn't follow people around 24/7 and record everything they say. It has gotten more media attention then it should have simply because it was a black Harvard professor. The (sad) truth of the matter is I am sure there are plenty of regular black citizens being abused by police officers of other races, as well as white citizens and hispanic, being abused etc...
I personally do not think Obama should not have commented on it, with or without facts.
It's all well and good to think that one day there will be great racial equality worldwide, but it is not a realistic expectation unfortunately.

President Obama admitted he didn't have all the facts; when he called the cop stupid he was reacting at a gut level. He later apologized and invited the officer to the White House for a beer. It was an unfortunate incident. The officer should have had a cooler head; it was almost as if he profiled the professor.

Well nobody knows all the facts, but even just based on the cops police report it does seem that all parties overreacted in this instance, so Obama wasn't really off base in his comments. If the cop was really justified in arresting the old professor on his own property after he already shown his ID, the charges wouldn't have been dropped immediately afterwords.

most all presidents were biased, it's just different to have one not biased towards white people 100% of the time. i don't know much about the incident though

The only reason he even commented was because the professor is one of Obama's buddies. Otherwise, I'm sure he would've had no comment, considering he admitted not knowing all the facts.
This is Chicago politics at its finest. Get used to it, because that's what we elected.

Why would he voice an opinion not based on facts? Obviously his motivation lies outside of logic.
