In my experience, all major leasers will do a credit check.

I've rented from a mom-and-pop place, and I'm not sure if they did a check, but I know they called my references. I guess I'd try renting through a person, not a company if you're trying to avoid a credit check.

You have bad credit and you are still living at home? Seems premature to move out. Clean up your credit first. Life on your own is tough enough without the bad credit ball and chain around your neck.

even if they DO run a credit check and see that your credit is bad...most likely they will just make you pay more of a deposit than say someone with good credit.good luck

Source(s): have bad credit and live in a nice house with just a bigger deposit
