How do I get out of a sleeper hold?

when my friend gets me in the hold, he puts his knee on the back of my leg and that makes it impossible for me to throw him forward

If by Sleeper hold you mean a rear naked choke in BJJ/Judo/catch/combat sambo, and it's only an escape, I guess I'll tell you:

once it's closed, you have a few seconds to do the following:

pull on the hand that is behind your head. there is a figure four with his choking arm around your neck and cartoid arteries grabbing to his bicep. pull on the wrist of the hand whose bicep is being held.

next, create space by grabbing to the forearm that is actually choking you and put your chin down.

    escape.

if anything else fails or the fight goes to the ground, you might want to check out Saulo Ribeiro's book: Jiu Jitsu University on the white and blue belt sections of the book on how to escape RNC fromback control on the ground. His method works best technically but if you're not agressive enough escaping you might end up mounted.

to escape back control RNC on the ground, X your hands and tuck your chin, then roll towards one side elbows inside his feet in case of open hooks(his feet are called hooks)

if his feet are closed, triangle figure four your legs and break his ankle, DO NOT REACH FOR A HOOK WITH YOUR HANDS OR YOU WILL GET CHOKED AND POSSIBLY DIE. if his feet are triangling your torso, you are ****** my friend, train BJJ and know which side to fall to open the body triangle.

If you have time to think about it you have time to try an escape. Don't Panic! Don't try to push up on his arms, it's the automatic reaction, it tightens the hold and exhausts you. Turn into opponents outside arm, hook any extremity possible and roll out in the direction of your turn, but don't flatten yourself out. Tuck your head toward the mat. Attempt to gain access with you hand up through arms. Keeping your chin tucked keeps you less vulnerable to this hold in the first place. Incorporate neck strengthening, a very often neglected part of a workout.

Step back while dropping your center of gravity down, push up on the arm and twist back and to the right which will create space. Keep shoving arm off and turning so he can't keep up with you. You'll be out.

Peel and turn, don't give up your back.

Relieve the pressure by using two hands to control the hand behind your head and tuck your chin, then drop your shoulder and spin into him.

U can find his thumbs and bend them outwards or strike the pressure points in his arms. There are pkenty of ways to get out of it.

put both your hands on one arm, and use as much of his own body wieght as you can , tuck your chin and work on losening the main arm. turning your body as you do so .i would work on NOT letting him get to a dominate back position . good luck to you.

Just bite the guy's arm or grab hold of his man-jewel. I'm quite sure he'll let go of you.
