What are some good ways to declutter?
I just feel like my house has way too much clutter, but when I look at the whole big picture I get discouraged so I don't do anything. I need to figure out how to get rid of the junk/clutter room by room? Also do you have any organization tips, since we don't have a lot of closet space, etc?

use a rating system. move around the room and look at EVERYTHING (furniture, books, knick-knacks, everything!). give items a rating, eg, Okay, Like, Love. get rid of the Okay's. Box the Likes, keep the Loves. after 3-6 months, if you haven't missed the boxed items, donate them to charity. You will probably find that you didn't need the stuff you just "liked" and will really enjoy the stuff that you love, which now gets all the attention.
also, box up stuff that i sentimental, but you just don't need around daily. this could be old photos, yearbooks, trinkets from vacations, etc. this stuff takes up space when you really just need to have it SOMEWHERE for sentiment's sake.
don't keep things like read magazines around. when you read a magazine, fold down the pages that you want to have for reference and when you're done, rip them out, punch holes in them with a 3-hole punch and put them in a binder. toss the magazine.
and the old tried-but-true: when you bring something new into the house, throw something else out! ie: you get a new shirt, you toss and old one. you buy a new book, get rid of one you've read. this really works and will help keep you from buying random stuff you don't need.
good luck!
