How can I change my primary e-mail address?

A primary address can be changed to a new Yahoo or other email account. It can't be changed to an alias of the account. Go to "account info" at https://edit.yahoo.com/config/eval_profile and add accounts in the "email information" section. You can then change one of them to the primary address. Yahoo Answers has its own primary address at http://answers.yahoo.com/my/my_edit

Note that you must still sign in with the base account or the alias, not the primary. The primary address is only used for email notifications.

If you actually mean that you want to change your ID then...

You can create an alternate email address that will go to the same mailbox as your primary email ID. Just go to this page. http://edit.yahoo.com/config/list_alias

The only alternative is to create a new account by first signing out and then at sign in create a new one.

You cannot change your ID name or address.

You can cancel the old account and open a new one with the desired information. Or simply open a new account with a different name and password, and use both.

Or, another option is to create an alternate E-mail address that will go to the same mailbox as your main E-mail ID.

Have you tried contacting the customer service department, of your E-mail service provider? They would really know best, as to how you can change your primary/default E-mail Address.

you can't change it. you just have to create a new account, but, once you do, you can move all of your old emails, notes, and things you want to keep into your new email.
