When I see people I see some one completely different?

when I see them again. Its been happening now for a couple of years It could be I meet what seemed like a young person when I first see them and when I meet them the next time its a senior, It even made a fool of me the young man I saw, I was attracted to, he was in his prime, but the next time I went back it was a very mature man and I didn't know how to not be attracted to him without hurting him so I had to pretend all the way through that I was attracted to him and I wasn't

It could be my mind playing tricks on me, what do you think it is.
