Depends on what type of car or truck you are looking for. Most Toyota's and Honda's sold in the US are made in the US, so throw the economic issues (worry about not supporting American companies) out the window. My personal choice is a foreign sedan (Accord, Corolla, Spectra, etc.) for the excellent gas mileage, engine durability, and overall resale value is better than most domestic models. If you are looking for a truck then do plenty of research into the different models and pick one you like. You will most likely choose a ford or Chevy (they seem the most popular choices). Remember choose something you like you are going to drive it every day for several years to come, so it must fit what you want in a vehicle most of all.

I prefer Japanese for quality and reliability. Nowadays Hyundai and Kia (Korean brands) are also good enough as they have German engineers, German designers, huge improvement in quality and reliability. I'm sorry but American cars is not really my thing. I personally think most American cars are spacious, but the quality isn't as good as Japanese, European, modern Korean cars. I like Chevy Cruze because it was designed and made by Koreans, and I like the recent Ford Focus and Fiesta because they are European made and I feel like the quality is really good for its class. To all patriotic Americans out there, I didnt mean to offend or anything like that. This is just my opinion.

I've been an ASE certified Master Auto Technician for over 15 years and they are all crap. Plus it's so hard to determine what the hell is made where any more. Some Fords are built in Korea, some GMs are built in Japan, some Hondas are built in Kentucky, and who knows who owns what any more. Makes a person's head spin.

Being American, I prefer to buy American whenever possible. In order to make America strong again, we not only need to buy American cars but other products proudly manufactured on our own soil.
Yes, I'm a patriot and a veteran.

Good for you, American cars are the equal or better than any import in the same price range.
You cant compare a Lexus to an Escort.
With so many Americans out of work . . . . . . get your head outta yer *** and support American workers I say.
