Question of the day! Are you happy?

Yes! So flippin happy!

That's a more complicated answer than one might think.

I guess, all in all it should be a simple question. There are symptoms of happiness, like smiling, and laughter, but of course, you can be happy without these things, and you can very well do these things without being happy.

It also depends on one's definition of happiness. What does happy really mean? It can mean when you are satisfied, or when you are pleased with something that has happened. These are usually shortlived happinesses and leave you quickly.

I am more inclined to think of happiness as a contentment that stays with you, and leaves you asking for more, the kind where you find something you really love to do, or when you have a fun night with your friends, not the feeling that comes with winning the lottery or not having any homework one night.

If this is the case, no, I am not happy at the moment. But I am not unhappy, however. I am simply neither here nor there. I have been happy before and I will be happy again.

Most the time, but life is full of stress due to the bad economy. Likely I'll lose my job soon, but in the meantime, I try not to worry about it and enjoy what's good about life.
