What should I call this cookie?
I have this cookie recipe and we cant figure out a proper name for them. Its a chocolate chip cookie but in a peanut butter dough with chewy toffee bits and a hint of honey. They are amazing and very sweet but not over sweet. Definitely want to keep the glass of milk nearby though. They are also crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. The hint of honey in the background makes them interesting because its not strong enough for you to realize that it is honey. Let me know if you want the recipe. Im posting it on allrecipes.com but I need a name for it first. Thanks!
Recipe is posted on another question if anyone wants it.
2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1 1/2 cups crunchy peanut butter
1 cup shortening
2 cups white sugar
1/4 cup honey
1 small bag chocolate chips, chunks OR chocolate bar coarsely chopped.
1 small bag toffee bits OR 1 small bag werthers originals hard candy crushed into bits. (werthers are more crunchy toffee is more chewy)
2 eggs
1 tsp baking soda
2 tbls hot water
Mix the sugar and honey together, add the peanut butter and shortening.
Mix the baking soda with hot water to dissolve and add to mixture stirring well.
Add in eggs one at a time until each one is mixed.
Add the flour a little at a time until a soft dough forms.
Knead or fold in the chocolate and toffee until well mixed.
Roll dough into "golf balls" and set on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 for around 8 minutes or whenever the toffee is shiny and cookies are golden in color. Take off of cookie sheet while still warm and place on serving tray. I like mine a little warm with ice cold milk! I hope you all like them.

Well, actually cookies are called something different in every culture. But, according to culinary historians, the first historic record of cookies was their use as test cakes. A small amount of cake batter was baked to test the oven temperature. The term "cookie" first appeared in print as long ago as 1703. Its name derives from the Dutch word koekje or koekie which means little cake, and arrived in the English language through the Dutch in North America. It spread from American English to British English where biscuit is still the more general term.
