Axis on my eye prescription?

This is how my prescription has been written out:

R: SPH -5.75 CYL +1.00 Axis 100

L: SPH -4.75 CYL +0.5

Does this mean there is no axis on my left eye or does it mean it's the same as the right anybody know if it's possible to have an axis on one eye and not the other?

As they have specified a cyl value for your left eye it MUST be accompanied by an axis to determine the direction of the cyl.

This can range from 5 to 180. Only your optician will be able to tell you what it is supposed to be as the prescription you have posted here is incomplete.

Ring the place that that tested your eyes and ask them

There is nothing strange about the axis...it can be any number between 1 and 180 degrees.

If you have an astigmatism (the CYL bit) then you HAVE to have an axis. I would ring up where you got them tested and get them to check your notes and tell you over the phone!

Hi there--no your left HAS to have an axis---There is a missing number there---just check with the eye doctor to give you an RX with all the numbers.
