    It's an amalgam of many discoveries made by many people, including Einstein (photovoltaic effect), Feynman (Quantum Electrodynamics), and a bunch of other people (Quantum Chromodynamics, Cavity QED, Quantum Information Sciences, etc., etc.) who continue to study the nature of light.
