Do people really sue hotels over bed bug bites?

it depends if its a little bite that goes away nothing! but if its something that needs medical attention and is seriously dangerous you can get thousands but it will be hard to prove because they will say how do you know you got it from us

Apparently none of you have ever had bed bug bites. I have an aweful case of them right now. They are all over my face, my arms and my back and just noticed them on my legs. They are huge welts and hurt like hell. I scratch them all day and now they are open wounds and will probably leave scars. The emotional stress that it has caused is unbearable. I don t sleep at all and am very lethargic and feel like throwing up with a fewer. It has been 3 days and feels like I want to die. I just contacted a lawyer . I have never sued anyone and never intended to, but this is the most miserable thing I have ever had to deal with.

It has happened and it should. Bed bugs are horrible and the last place they should be is in a Hotel where you are spending your money to sleep in their bug infested beds. Also bed bugs can travel on the people who stayed at the Hotel and bring them home to infest their own homes.

Now-a-days, people sue over every small thing, but beg bugs are a real issue. Yes people have probably sued over bed bugs...

I don't know many people who sue, even though they have complained about bugs.

My family was at this one hotel, and we were going to read from the Bible and say some prayers, but when we opened up the Bible---

Bam! There were used condoms in there! My father complained to the staff and they switched all our sheets and got us a new Bible. All my brother could say was "At least they used protection."

People sue for anything!

If you have enough money you can sue for anything....

its terrible but Justice is only for those who can afford it

as far as how much you will get depends on each case and where and the jury

they dont sue and if they did they would get a small fine all people do is go to the manager and complain then the manager says "ok how about this i give you the room for free if you forget about this." Trust me this happened to me twice and also i found a pair of glasses in my bed so the made didnt clean it

yes, you can sue. new clothes, doubtful. dry cleaning works, so does a good laundering in HOT water with a serious soap. and maybe the hotel will settle to avoid the publicity.

yeah it's stupid cause bed bug bites go away after a couple weeks like a month and they dont get tht much

1: they can spread diseases

2: every bed has mite... different form bed bugs because mites just eat the dead skin cells.

3: people consider it unsanitary

4: it's usualy labled as emotional distress more than a physical symptom.
