i just went to a 6 yesterday, and need to clean it so the swelling goes down and so i dont get an infection, but i dont have any of that sea salt that youre supposed to use.. i just need something to get me by for a few days until i can get to the store.

Update:

oh and also..should i keep the plug in when i clean it, or take it out?

KUDOS, first of all, on calling them 'stretched' instead of gauged.

Second of all, peroxide is baaaad for stretched ears (or any piercings) as it debrides the flesh and is too strong, which irritates the piercing.

If you have any sterile saline wound wash, you can use them. Otherwise, dial soap and warm water will do well. Good luck!

ok im a 1 1/4 so i know a lil about this..Peroxide is not too harsh. Peroxide is only water with more oxygen molecules... You should use sea salt, warm water (let your ears soak), or antibactieral micro dermal soap. You can get this at a local piercing store. This reduces skin scaling, bacteria, and oder. you can use this soap, as a shampoo, soap or for piercing care. I highly recommend it. Oh and it's better that you take your jewelry out when you clean the hole, so you can clean the jewelery also. if not it will stink. thats only if your ear doesn't hurt. if it does leave it there for a couple of days until you don't feel pain.

    Cleaning Gauged Ears

I went to a 6 last week! If you can't get sea salt, just wash them with warm water and a mild soap. The peroxide would be way too harsh on them...

Im sorry but I dont know anything about gauging ears. Im guessing that that would work or you may be able to make your own salt soultion...salt and water.I hope you dont get an infection.
