Although many say they were influential, i think that there are more influential people out there than the Beatles not to mention much better sounding peopole to. Who's better, the Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, or U2(List them in the order of which you like them.

The Beatles - first of the British invasion that changed America from Rock-a-billy to rock and roll over night.
The Stones - Where the Beatles were the good boys of rock back then, the Stones were the bad boys with salacious lyrics like "let's spend the night together" (banned in Boston, literally)
Led Zeppelin - If you love their albums, you'll hate them in concert. It's like they do performance art covers of their own music ("does anybody remember laughter?") WTF did that mean Robert?
U2 - they would be a distant 4th. Their music never did anything for me and Bono's political BS has worn thin... shut up and sing, we don't care what you think, that's not what we're paying you for.
Edit: I just saw you added the Doors. Jim Morrison, the Lizard King. I have seen all 5 of these bands in concert, in person, and the Doors, beyond a doubt put on the best performance by far. They would be my number one favorite.
The Beatles, the audience was just too loud too enjoy them. The Stones, good stage act lots of cool visuals and animations, but Jagger is getting old. Led Zeppelin I already spoke to their stage act. U2, nice flashy lights, but they tend to play games with their music also.
The Doors, Jim knew what you wanted, you wanted to hear the music you heard on the record and he never let you down. He knew how to grab an audience, make love to it, wring it out and send it home. The man could sing, he could write he could perform. Krieger and Manzarak were musical Gods in their time. Krieger could play anything from ballads to screamin rock, Manzarak, well one hand playing the bass part and one playing the tune it sounded like he had two extra pairs of hands.
RIP Jim

I suppose it depends on what you're going by.
Instruments: I think Led Zep is the best
Innovativeness: The Beatles
I really like how the Stones took in so many different genres and implemented them.
I don't really like U2 much,,, I don't get what the big deal about them is.
Given the choice, I'd have to say I like the Beatles the most, U2 least.
