Malacca is located in the middle of the Straits of Malacca - a major trade route in the 15th century.

It was founded by the Portugese, taken by the Dutch and evenutally the British.

Before Singapore was founded by the British, Malacca served as a major trading post but lost it's importance by the 17th century after the British developed Singapore became into a new trading post .

Why is there any changes? Is there a change of Malacca's location?
