I installed Save as PDF Add In and am getting this error:This File is in use by another application or user.?

I am working in MS Office 2007, and I installed Save as PDF, it saved 1st document in PDF but after that it keeps giving me this error message and I cannot save in PDF format.

I have tried all possible solutions recommended in MS website to no avail.I have only 1 desktop computer hence sharing is not possible.Hence another application cannot run office.

What should I do ? PLz advise.

ERROR MESSAGE :

This File is in use by another application or user.

This error is commonly encountered when a read lock is set on the file that you are attempting to open. Possible reasons for this:

Another user has the file open, either on the same computer that you are using, or on another computer.

Word crashed at some point in the past and left a read lock on the file.

Another application has an exclusive lock on the file, preventing Word from opening the file.

A custom application is running and has opened this file (possibly on another user's computer). It may have opened the file using an incorrect method.

To correct this problem, close all applications, restart Word and try to open this file again. If this does not work, examine the properties of the file to determine if someone else has it open. Occasionally a phantom process (dead or disassociated program) may have a lock on the file, and the only means of clearing it is to restart your computer.

For more information, see Microsoft Knowledge Base article 918593.

Update:

I already have MS Word 2007 and the latest Adobe PDF 9.1., my system is 2.4Ghz Processor and Ram 2GB.

Ensure that you have the latest PDF Reader installed. When you in Office 2007 Save As PDF, uncheck to open that file after save. If the problem persist, close all Office apps and open that file that you saved (PDF). I hasve been using so many PDF aps and the 2007 addin is the best in stability, reliability and getting to the smallest size.

Word crashed at some point in the past and left a read lock on the file.

    Disable the read lock.

Drop to a command line session.

Navigate to the location of the file

    type

attrib -r -a -s -h "name of file with extension" don't use the quotes

Not sure, but if you can't figure it out you can always download CutePDF which allows you to create PDF files for free by printing to PDF. Google CutePDF.
