I absolutely love the Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter series by Laurell K. Hamilton. Her books are so good, you won't want to put them down. It's much more grown up than Twilight. No Mary Sues. I can't read through them fast enough.

try reading vampire academy, its NOTHING like twilight. but there's vampires in it. it's as good as twilight. some people say they hate twilight but love vampire academy.
