In Lolita, by Vladimir Nabokov, what is the significance of the setting? Please and thank you!?
I'm doing a Power Point on Lolita, by Vladimir Nabokov, and I need to know the significance of the setting throughout the book?
Please and thank you? :]
By setting, I mean the time, place, and so on. My teacher asked for a slide listing the time, listing the place, and then listing the significance of the setting, and I'm confused as to what I should put. I had the hardest time getting interested in the book. It couldn't hold my attention, which is strange, because I love to read, and I usually don't have that problem.

I love that book and would be happy to discuss/ think about it, but I don't quite understand what you mean by the "setting". Please elucidate? :)
Edit: I understand about staying with the book, I had the same problem, I had to put it down and pick it up about a year later when I was ready for it:. I suppose the setting is a reflection of Humbert's life, meaning the fact that he is always moving on ingrains and justifies the fact that he is a loner. I've got to put my daughter to bed, but I recommend that you watch the film if you're finding it a hard read. The film is very true to the book, good luck
