Try some alt. country like Martha Wainwright, Kathleen Edwards and Ryan Adams who actually released albums called 'Love Is Hell' and 'Heartbreaker.' Marth Wainwright wrote a song called 'bloody motherf****ing a****hole.' if you really want to go to town, she also wrote a beautiful song called 'Factory.' Anything by Damien Rice is good, he wrote a song called 'Accidental Babies' which is a superb break up song of sorts. One of my favourite break up songs is by 'Grand Drive' called 'Nobody's Song in Particular.' Check out Kathleen Edwards 'Sweet Little Duck' on You Tube too which is superb especially the live version. I know everyone is plugging Amy Winehouse tracks at the moment but her song 'Back To Black' is all about the break up and worth a listen.
