My fish tank is cloudy, can someone help?

I had 8 fish in a 10 gallon tank, they were doing awesome for about a year until my daughter threw a pretzel in the tank and I found it the next day and took it out, then like a week later the water started getting foggy, now it is super cloudy and 2 fish have died, what should I do? Change the water? Is there a product you can use? Please help!

I would do a relatively large water change, like 50% in that case. It is better than leaving all of the cloudy water in there. Then maybe 2-3 days later, a 30% water change or so. If you have a good filter in there, it should also help with clearing up the water. As for products, unfortunately I do not know of any that would help with that problem..

There isn't really overly much you can do about it, besides changing the water frequently. Just don't change it all at once. I would probably just do frequent water changes with a few days in between each change until the water clears up.

do a 50% water change and then do like 25% every other day. is the filter still working? maybe it clogged with pretzle chunks or something? just make sure everything is functioning and do some water changing, but not too much cause that stresses the fish and the tanks ecosystem

also, get a lid for the tank =) or keep the pretzles in a high cabinet =)

yea if u have a gravel vaccum, u might wanna do a quick cleaning, dont be oveeerly thruough though because with all that 'waste' in there, youre going to need a good sum of bacteria to process it. keep an eye on the water chemistry for bout a week too and do water changes when it gets too high (cause it might)
