My brother is on a cocktail of medications for schitzophrenia, and goes through periods where he paces, whether as a side effect of the meds, or the illness, I don't know. As my house is tiny, when he starts pacing, I set him some chores, whether dusting up high, or helping me in the kitchen. When he's not busy, he paces. Perhaps try to find something that will distract you. He has tried going for long bushwalks (10km a day) and says that it helps stop the pacing, but mostly because he's exhaused.
If it's effecting your sleep, you may be able to use the medication 'restavit' (may have a different name in the uk) but the chemical is doxalamine succinate, and it's an antihistamine, but it will push you into sleep fairly rapidly.
Other than that, go talk to your local pharmacist for some help.

No, and don't try self medication cannabis etc. You seem to be anxious about some thing that needs to be identified, but be patient and see the doctor, but what ever he prescribes ask about side effects. I personaly pace when I,m talking to some body about some thing that is bothering me. Just try keeping busy or take a walk, see friends. But don't let it get to you, just be cool and take it easy.
