what makes a cop pull over an import like a civic or integra?
Like if a cop were to see and integra lowered, w/ a body kit, rims, exhaust, and nice paint driving at speed limit and obeying all traffic laws... what makes a cop pull it over? is that car just such a danger to society that it needs to get tickets for modifications that arent hurting anyone?
you gotta admit that some of the laws on modification are just pointless...

This is often down to a stereotypical image people have that and other bits out there,i have been pulled over in the past for the same reasons.
And as for the commet about people up to no good another image,i am sure all the murders out there where not all driving modded cars.
But the fact is there are an element in any walk of life may it be sports fans whom enjoy the game then there is those whom cause trouble at sports events, but it would be wrong to count all the fans in the same hand.
This is the same with modded car owners there is an element whom do cause trouble in the car scene which spreads it out to all modded car owners and ccauses us all to be classed in the same hand.
But as you said the Officer say the car and instantly decided you was upto no good.

Because most of the time the person that drives the car is doing something unlawful.
Every single modded out car I have been inside, something unlawful was going on inside. Somebody was smoking pot, underage people were drunk, or we had just gone down a street at 150 kmh.
Be honest with yourself. I'm not saying you are guilty, I'm saying you LOOK guilty. Just like you see a 22 year old with a blood on his shirt holding a knife, it look's like hes just stabbed something. He could just be a butcher though.
Who are you trying to fool?
And yeah, some laws on mod's are kind of pointless. but most law's are for a good reason, a ******* GOOD reason. Just because you are a good driver, doesn't mean your are any safer on the road, other people out there aren't good drivers. You get hit by somebody else with no seatbelt on you will fly out the window, you get bumped by somebody and swerve a little and hit a pedestrian, your bumper has to be soft, if they hit a grate they will probably end up in a wheelchair for a few months.

every single person that answered this is obviously a cop or knows one. maybe not the guy above me. but the asker here is completely right. i have a scion tc modded out. turbo, and supercharged ( yes i know not normally done in most cars but i moved the tranny back to make room ) and i get cops pulling me over for stupid ****, half the time they check to see if i'm pullin anything ilegal. like come on i'm 16 give me a break. there is nothing wrong with having a modded car, or ilegal, at least in my state, and i know this for a fact because my grandfather is a state inspector and mechanic. cops are out to meet their numbers for the month. most cops are erregant pricks who think they can do anything, they see a nice car, they pull it over for no reason. whoever the asker is, you're right, not most of the laws are pointless, they all are.

Because an overwhelming majority of people who own cars like that are usually involved with something bad. They are normally involved with street racing (cuz there car is to slow to go to a real track) or they have pot in their car. Underaged drinking and or drunk driving is another easy find in cars like that. You may be one of the very few that is a completely law abiding citizen, but you are still a target when you drive a car like that.
I will say this though... I own a heavily modified supercharged Chevy Cobalt SS. There is nothing stock about it and it is the most viewed car on the Cobalt forums. I have never been pulled over in that car in the 3 years I have had it.
****EDIT****
To the guy below me... you have a supercharged and turbocharged Scion TC? Really? Are you sure?

Some mods are illegal for a damn good reason. And probably because you WERE breaking the law in one way or another. I love how police are soooo corrupt everywhere. They must be out to get you huh?
Oh and nice job not telling the whole story...
And nice job trying to mislead the topic.

probably because riced out cars are pretty gay. anytime your exhaust has more decibels than your car has horsepower you have a problem. you and the guy above me are probably the kind of guys that strip the interior of your cars to reduce weight and then bolt on 100 pounds of underglow and LEDs
