dvd drive doesn't show on my computer?

My drives do not all show when I open my computer. It only shows the main drive, it does not show dvd rom drive. how can I fix this problem? It is not recognizing all disks that I insert.

Update:

I followed the instructions for the regedit and I can't find any reference to the upperfilters and lowerfiliters. Can someone elaborate for me?

    Go to Start>Run>type ‘regedit’

    Then,locate HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class

    Delete all value data from upperfilters and lowerfilters

    important: Do not delete the key or the multi-string values. Delete only the data values.

    Exit registry and reboot.
