China or South Korea?

Depends on what you will travel for - if you want a shopping or landscape destination, go to China; if you want a cultural destination, go to Korea.

Shanghai and Hong Kong in China and Seoul in Korea are ultramodern cities - China has more shopping and leisure facilities, while Korea is more of a laidback atmosphere where you can just sit back and relax.

In terms of landscape, China has diverse mountain ranges, deserts, large rivers, and plains, while Korea only largely has mountain ranges and islands.

In terms of culture, China at first can be slightly disheartening as lots of Western influence are easily seen; Korea is more deeply religious and is still highly entrenched with local cultural traditions.

In terms of cleanliness and orderliness, Korea is way cleaner and a lot orderly than China is - and you can just feel how laidback Korea is. China is more of the hustle-bustle country.

For a first time visitor to Asia, I would definitely recommend Hong Kong or Shanghai in China - because people here can speak and understand at least some English - and there is not much culture shock. Korea is mostly done by more seasoned tourists to Asia - it is extremely rare to find people in Korea who can converse in English at all, and if you are not fit with Asian cultural standards, the lack of communication and shared culture can frustrate you a lot.

- better government its not communist, so u wnt get shot for saying bad stuff about government and lots of people are mistaken there and get bashed and stuff, so is more dangerous

s korea is cleaner, china is very polluted and there is a health hazard
