I'd be inclined to steal some of the more creative names from the animal kingdom -- those terms that seemed somewhat elvish:

    apes - shrewdness

    bison/buffalo - obstinacy

    kittens - kindle

    cheetah - coalition

    coyote - rout

ducks (on the ground) - badelynge

    eagles - convocation

    ferrets - fesnyng

    fox - skulk

    mouse - mischief

    toad - knot

All in all, however, I would expect a group of elves to be called a band of elves (even if I do really like a badelynge of elves!)
