What Is Cool Tone Enlarging Paper, Uses....?

I was interested in cool tone photographic papers, and possibly using them in the future. However, I was unsure what all I would need.

Places like Freestyle and B&H sell cool tone enlarging paper, but they also sell cool tone developers.

Do I have to use the cool tone developers along with the cool tone enlarging papers, or could I use this special paper in Dektol and get the same "cool" effect?

I am not all that up on all the papers anymore. I still have hundreds of sheets of paper to use up.

That said. If you want a paper to give you the "right" tone you should use the right developer. Some papers are set up to use them. Dektol is good for papers that are basic or that will be toned later.

So, read all you can about the paper you want to use. If it calls for a developer to get the cool tone your wanting, use it. The more picky you are with the chemical part of photography the better your images will come out. Be right on with time, temp and mixing every time. Keep great notes so you can do it all over just right or fix a problem.
