Dell Inspiron 1525 back left corner sounds like it is "churning". Why fan so loud?
I have had this computer for 7 mos -- during which time I have had issues with it shutting off. After much time online and on phone with Dell I learned I can't put my laptop on my lap or upholstered furniture, bed, etc.....because it was shutting off. Lately now the fan makes all this loud noise. Do I need a new one? Why is it sooooo loud?

A BIOS update can usually help with some of the fan issues, if it's not up to date, update it.
If BIOS is already up to date, get one of those Chill Pads by Targus (or anything similar) its just a plastic pad, with fans in it, it plugs into an empty USB port and will help ALOT with keeping your laptop cool.

I had similar problems with my Inspiron 1501, actually exactly the same problem. It was constantly overheating. I would recommend cleaning the dust out of it with compressed air cleaner. Then you should buy a laptop cooling fan or pad.

You may want to also get the laptop looked at as dust can gather at the back, especially in the fan blocks. Hope it helps!
