It really depends on the fish. Females can show aggression toward each other. Every fish has their own personality. What works for most may not work for you.
There are things you can do to reduce the chances of aggression. Introduce them both at the same time, having more than just 2 helps some people, keep a divider between them until they get used to each other.
Keeping females together can work, but just keep an eye on them and be ready with a back up plan if for some reason it doesn't.

Oh, of course they can! You can have a tank full off them, their very peaceful fish, just don't try breeding two females with one male. If the male is put in after a few days the females settle in, he won't fight with them but the female will injure them selves. Like many teenage girls these days, they've been known to become aggressive towards each other when they find a liking for the same mate.

If you put 2 girl bettas together without a wall between them, they will probably fight! It doesn't matter what gender the fish is. But don't worry- you can still get 2 of then! Pet stores sell plastic tanks with a plastic wall in the middle so they don't fight. Good luck!

I think it's just the males that fight but you should be able to ask the person you are buying the fish from they will know for sure...
