The geologic column: Where is it on earth?

We've all been taught the geologic column. But where is it on earth? Can anyone point to it and say, "Here is the geologic column." All that I've seen is the geologic column on paper. Where does it exist?

The geologic column is the representation of what would happen if all the geology occurred in one place, but there is no place where the entire column exists in one place because erosion wipes out a lay or three or rising land levels moved the existing layers above the sea bottom. But the existence of the column means that if in any given location you find layers A, B, D, E, G then you have to explain why C and F are not in that spot. Normally the answer comes from looking at how the layers behave as you move away from the spot - for example, 10 miles away, C appears as a thin layer that gets thicker. Other evidence would be curving of layers, faults filled in with later material.

In a given location, the layers should always be in order - B should be above A - and if they are inverted, then there should be clear evidence of folding to invert the layers.
