You cannot delete Yahoo messenger from your cell, but You can remove your cellphone from Yahoo SMS.

I think you are talking about receiving Your Messages on cellphone.

Now here is a REALLY SIMPLE FIX-

options

1. YOU CAN STOP YAHOO MESSENGER from forwarding messages to your phone

2. stay registered just in case you really do need to sign in and send msg in an emergency.

OR

3 TOTALLY REMOVE PHONE FROM Yahoo SMS

To REMOVE YOUR PHONE FROM YAHOO SMS

(AND STAY REGISTERED) DO THIS:

Open Yahoo messenger

Messenger Menu

Preferences

General Tab

Go the bottom OF PAGE

and UNCHECK BOX THAT SAYS Always sign into Mobile when I sign out of messenger.

Once You UNCHECK THIS BOX - Your messages will no longer be forwarded to Your cellphone.

You can stop here...

Keep Cellphone registered and Refer to this Shortcut guide if needed, but at least it is "ready" when needed or if needed.

Find Messenger phone and click on DELETE

(this will remove your phone from Yahoo Messenger)

You are still registered for Alerts,If You have alerts, You can keep them, and also your phone a tthis point is still registered for Yahoo.

You can completely remove, by clicking on DELETE by your name

This will remove all Yahoo Mobile Alerts and Yahoo SMS

So now, You will not receive Yahoo Messenger messages..

I do not know what cellphone provider you have

there is a program called MOBILE IM

(powered by OZ MOBILE)

this has Yahoo, AIM, and(some have- WLM or MSN (windows live)

If you have to download it, Remove from the "Store"

Otherwise.. just don't use it. Remove ID and Password

you should be able to open the messenger file up and just click erase...that or just drag it to the trash bin...I have the samsung instinct s30...thats what i did
