I photograph people mainly. When I first got into photography I was terrified of attempting portraits so I never approached anyone. Then someone approached me because I had a "nice camera". They wanted some family photos. That was a turning point for me. I discovered that people were what I was meant to be photographing.

I do it for the challenge and for the reward. The challenge isn't just getting a technically correct image. I could teach anyone to do that practically. The challenge is getting a piece of their personality along with that image. The reward is knowing that I achieved that goal and gave someone something they love.

As far as what it means to me...it's my creative outlet. I have ideas and photography is the only medium that allows me to put them into a physical/visual form to share them.

I shoot portraits. It is why I love photography. I love to see a person's reaction when they love what I have shot. Especially when a mother sees a beautiful image of her child and I can feel the happiness that it brings to her. It is why decided to be a photographer.
