I think he is a great player always a danger for any side .he's got heart and guts and plenty of it.

yep 4 sure .is playing right in that zone that only certain players get 2.he can become a star forward for years to come if he stays injury free. at the moment he would be the first forward picked in an national side

I would have to say no. He has had some brilliant games this season, but as is par for course with Watmough, he hasn't been able to do it consistantly.
He has only hit his straps since the third Origin game this year, and while his form since then has been spectacular, this is still only a very short period of time.
His form at the beginning of the season was strong, but he also put together some shockers in mid season.
To be considered best forward he would have to be starting each week and commanding each game, something he has not done.
While I agree that Watmough is a terrific player, I can't agree and say that he is the best forward in the game as others have been consistently better.
As I edit this Watmough's poor discipline have cost Manly victory against South Sydney. He gave away three penalties that led directly to Souths tries. Had these penalties not been given away, Manly would have won the game 22-18.

He's not the best but he is sure up there with the best forwards. Give him another season or two, playing injury free and I think we will see what Anthony Watmough is really capable of.
Would love to see him line up in the second row with Ben Creagh at the St George Illawarra Dragons. Just imagine how much he would improve under Wayne Bennett !!

Best footballer for the last 6 or 7 rounds by a million miles but if i were to rate the best forward of the 21 rounds this year to date i would still have to go with Creagh cause he has been starring for the dragons, among their top three every game since round one

umm.. i wouldnt say this season as a whole, he wasnt playing his best for the first 6-8 weeks, but if you take out them then definitely. he is inspirational for whatever team he is in and as an eels fan i hate to say that but, he seems to be able to lift others with his heavy defense (although he has 62 missed) and hit ups(42 more tackle busts than any other backrower and 3rd in runs) and has a great ability to beat the first defender and break the line(1st with 13), the only thing i would say i dont like about him is that he is very ill disciplined and seems to give away a lot of penalities (2nd with 15)and is prone to make errors(1st with 20), but i think the good definitely outweighs the bad

Not really.. he is a good player and played great against the tigers... but it takes more then a couple of games to become the best forwards..
What bout Gareth Ellis... everything he has done this season has been perfect...

he's come of age of late, but for consistensy all year round i'll go with the guy above, its ben creagh who deserves to be called the best forward so far this season.

Yup. By far. Most destructive ball runner, brilliant leg speed, can find holes with ease.
