First Time Home Buyer Tax Credit For Next Year?

Does anyone know if the government plans on doing SOME type of first time home buyer tax credit next year like they did this year?

Update:

DANG IT! We would LOVE to buy a house this year... but we have to wait until he has been with his job for 2 years... which will be next August. GRRR

It's best not to wait if you're thinking. Economist are expecting all this to start getting better by the end of the year, which means that prices will go up & incentives to buy a house will be gone.

My wife & I just closed on our house in March, had to amend our taxes & got the 8k within 20 weeks.

To answer your question, I doubt they'll do it.

The activity is taxable. you will receive a 1099-INT substitute letter from the IRS early next three hundred and sixty 5 days to remind you. despite in case you do no longer, make an remark of it simply by fact the IRS won't forget it and could be finding for it on your return next three hundred and sixty 5 days. The $8k is particularly tax unfastened money to you. have fun with it properly. in case you mailed it out on a million/15 and have been given it immediately, this is in all threat the quickest one that the IRS has ever processed. fortunate you!
