What are your opinions on aerial application?

For those of you familiar with aerial application (crop dusting) what are some of your opinions (positive or negative) of it?

    It depends on the contractor.

If it is done carefully then it is a safe and effective way of spraying a crop.

It prevents you having to drive over your crop with machinery and that means a better yield right there. You would be surprised how many acres of crop you lose to the track of the tractor's tires.

If the spraying is on a windy day or from too high up you lose effectiveness and can contaminate nearby fields with spray that drifts away from where you want it.

That can be very expensive. You don't want to pay for your neighbor's fields because you sprayed them with poisons by accident, right?
