Was it not racism that put Obama in office, but fear?
I remember an almost forgotten reason for his victory.
A. People were opposed to Iraq because;
B. People thought that by being there the U.S. was causing terrorism.
But ,now, this has proven untrue. back to;
A&B. People thought (and I remember this clearly) that when Obama was elected, that the enemy would stand down.
People (though none of them will admit it now) were afraid. Understandable. A majority of people will tell others not to rock the boat when confronted with terrorism. This is how terror works.
Now this. The white house has asked people to report others for exercising their 1st amendment rights; freedom of speech and freedom of press.
And everybody on here knows that this is causing fear. Fear being used to accomplish a political agenda amounts to what?

You teabaggers need to stop your hysterical paranoia! It isn't the end of the world. We've been in worst situations than this..stop spreading around your retardedness, because Americans voted you out...just accept it..
Why ? Because you screwed up on this economy..you voted for this recession...we didn't..
This is why more and more are supporting the dems and more are jumping ship and calling themselves independents..
Enough of this republican garbage...and mass hysteria

First, let me debunk A&B. I was opposed to the Iraq invasion because for the simple fact, it was a waste of our money, time and the lives of our troops. Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11, which is what the country was told. I never believed we were causing "terrorism", we were allowing the terrorism to come into Iraq by letting the terrorists into the country. Which btw, Saddam never would or did.
Secondly, the white house administration is asking for people to let them know what kind of BS is running rampant out there so they can refute it with the truth. To me, trying to get the truth out there and standing up to and clearing up any and all confusion and propaganda is a lot better then letting yourself get ran over by it. Which is a mistake that some politicians make by trying not to rock the boat and letting things go on until they find themselves out of the running or a job. BTW, this administration is doing this out in the open while the last administration did it in secret. Which is worse?
Lastly, the only fear out there that is being caused is coming from the right, the right winged media, the repubs in office and their followers.

The 'issues' and policies motivated me, primarily.
But also fear: fear that old man McCain would 'somehow' wind up dead and then we'd have Presidumb Palin.
As a Vietnam vet I had a soft spot in my heart for McCain. But then I saw him use the same tactics, used by the same people, against Obama who had been used against McCain by Bush! I still have a soft spot for him in my heart, but no soft spot in my HEAD! Nix on more Bush-0-nomics, nix on more war, nix on Wall Street and unbridled corporate greed.
Hence, I voted FOR Obama. And more glad now than last November.
Perfect? No, not hardly. Much better? Definitely.

Source(s): . i am sure that you and Sen. Cornyn had NO QUALMS WHATSOEVER about Bush's illegal wiretaps and Internet monitoring years ago. But now that Obama's staff wants to have us send them the lies, distortions and canards circulating on the Internet by tubs-o-lard duped into mindlessly forwarding the lies about health care, so that the White House can dissect the lies and correct and rebut them, NOW you're worried. To quote the birthers: "Honest people have nothing to hide." Is that shoe pinching, now that it's on the other foot? . - myopinionLv 71 decade ago
Some of both and a lot of stupidity... people thinking we needed change but not looking at what they were getting!

No it is part of the plan to put him in office. Cause anyone don't know him even to his own wife I bet. I catch lies in a heart beat. Stanley Dunham blood line is what got him in office as well. Research it.
