My boar bristle brush smels horrible. Help!?
I accidentially dropped my boar bristle brush in a sinkful of soapy water. I let it air dry and now it smells like a hamsters cage. Please help! I already tried shampooing it, and now it just smeels like a hamsters cage and coconute. Please help!

Fill a bowl or bucket with warm water. Drop in some gentle shampoo or mild dish soap. The ratio of soap to water should be one tablespoon per gallon.
Remove any stray hairs in the brush. You can use your fingers or a comb.
Swoosh the hairbrush in the soapy solution with a couple of sweeping motions.
Remove the brush from the soapy water and rinse it under warm water. Dry it with a towel until the extra moisture is removed. Let it air dry.

Soak in a mild borax solution every six months.
Swirl the bristles in a 4 parts water to 1 part vinegar solution. Rinse. Lather. Rinse again. Done!
Do that as necessary to keep it clean.

It's from a dead animal (boar) that was cruelly killed. That's why it stinks. Buy synthetic bristle brushes and you they won't stink.

it's because it's not synthetic. when you wash a brush without brush formula (especially when it's not synthetic), it grows bacteria
go to mac and get some brush cleaner
