Real Variables (Analysis) or Abstract Algebra?

This is for my undergraduate degree in Math. I need to pick one of these courses for next semester. (I will actually have to take both Analysis and Abstract eventually, but for now my schedule allows only one).

Which one should it be? Anybody's taken these classes before? Thanks!

Like Awms, I too am biased. I liked Abstract Algebra enough to continue studying it in my free time even after graduation. Real analysis, not so much...

    Good question!

I would recommend taking Abstract Algebra first. Subjectively, I enjoy this topic much more than (Real) Analysis. Objectively, you'll gain more experience in writing solid proofs before taking Analysis. (Analysis requires excellent proof writing skills to get through it alive! If not, your experience could be miserable. I had a couple of professors in undergrad who convinced me to take it later since they felt they both suffered from taking it too soon. I'm glad I heeded their advice.)

I would have to say Abstract Algebra would be the lighter work load from experience

I'm sort of biased, but I would say abstract algebra.
