Can you buy a phone like the G1 from t-mobile off of ebay and then use it as a no contract phone?

I want this phone but i dont know if i can use it as a no contract phone. Please help

    You can buy the G1 and use it on another provider if you wish to.It just needs to be unlocked if choose to do that. Otherwise on T-mobile,I don't think it can be used on prepaid.Don't think it is compatible.You can always email t-mobile customer care and ask though.

    yes, you can. however, you still need to sign up with a plan even with no contract.
