Who originally said The further they come, they are the harder they fall?

Lots of books and shows with variations on this quote but I want to know where it's from ORIGINALLY and what was the ORIGINAL WORDING of the quote. I know the end is correct (the harder they fall) but I'm not sure if the beginning is "The further they come" the way I remember it.

"The bigger they are the harder they fall" is one of those old, common proverbs with author unknown. (Although you might suspect a lumberjack for coming up with it). Below is a source for it and many others.
